Limestone MOT Type 1 is usually used for making roads and highways, to be laid and compacted under tarmac, and is approved by the ministry of transport (MOT) for laying under major motorways.

In order for it to be classified as Type 1, it must comply with the Department of Transport Specifications for Highway Works, clause 803. Type 1 MOT can be made from granite, limestone or clean crushed concrete. Type 1 MOT (also sometimes called MOT Type 1 or DOT Type 1, named after the Department of Transport) ranges in size from 63mm down to dust, however the majority of the material are 40mm down. Its small size creates an easily compactable aggregate. We also produce a quality eco and sustainable recycled MOT Type 1.
